Creating the Perfect Dress: Bakst To Black Focus Group Meeting
Can you describe your perfect dress? You know the one I mean…the one that makes you feel fabulous every single time you put it on. The one your friends always ask, “where did you get it?” This perfect dress - is it loose or fitted? Does it drape divinely or cling in all the right places?
These were just some of the thorny questions we tackled at our first Bakst to Black focus group meeting. A special “thankyou” to all the wonderful ladies who came to share their wealth of knowledge and opinions with our design team.
During three hours of intense discussion, we got down to the fundamentals of what you, extraordinary amazing women, want in your perfect dress. From “hide the belly” to clean lines and flawless elegance, our focus group ruthlessly discussed their experiences, good, bad and downright hilarious, with the world of dress shopping.
M described that sinking feeling when she stepped into a wedding reception only to notice that she was wearing exactly the same gown as one of the bridal party.
“No, what happened to me was worse, by far,” exclaimed S, leaping off her seat. “I wore the same red dress as the bride!”
We were tremendously excited to present our first prototype dress to the scrutiny of the focus group. We were even more excited by the enthusiastic response we received. This proved to us what we at Bakst to Black have long suspected: Women have not given up on their dream of owning the Perfect Dress. You are not prepared to settle for second best. You are heartily fed up with being forced to compromise on style in the interests of modesty. gorgeous prom dresses
We have come away from this first meeting chock full of incredible ideas of how we can make our dresses even more fabulous. We’re talking fabric weights that will work for both Winter and Summer; sleeves that are classy and beautiful; detachable collars that transform the garment from day wear to evening...and so many more ideas they are literally sizzling our brains. Watch this space. Your perfect dress is on its way…
